This policy explains what happens to information when you use FitCalc (fitcalc.uk). It applies to this website only.

Information you enter into the calculators

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The values you enter — weight, height, age, sex, measurements, lift numbers, race times — are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to us, stored on a server, or saved between visits. Closing or refreshing the page clears them completely.

We do not operate user accounts, and we never ask you to register, log in, or provide an email address to use any tool on this site.

Advertising

This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Affiliate links

Some pages in the guides section contain affiliate links to products sold on Amazon. If you follow one of these links and make a purchase, FitCalc may receive a small commission. This costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same either way.

Affiliate relationships do not determine what we recommend. Products are included because they are relevant to the topic of the guide, and are clearly marked wherever they appear.

These links carry an Amazon Associates tracking identifier so that Amazon can attribute a purchase to this site. Following one takes you to Amazon, where Amazon's own privacy policy and cookie practices apply — FitCalc receives only anonymous, aggregated commission reporting and never learns who you are or what you bought.

FitCalc participates in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Gym finder and location data

The gym finder tool requests your location only when you actively choose to use it by selecting "Use my location". Your browser will ask for your permission before any location data is accessed, and you can decline.

If you grant permission, your coordinates are sent directly to the Google Maps and Places APIs to find nearby gyms and display them on a map. We do not store, log, or retain your location. If you never use this feature, no location data is requested or accessed at any point.

Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Cookies

FitCalc does not set its own cookies. Cookies may be set by the third-party Google services described above (advertising and maps). Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, though blocking them may affect how embedded maps and ads function.

Analytics

FitCalc does not run its own analytics or visitor-tracking software — there is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no third-party measurement script on this site beyond the advertising described above. Google AdSense does perform its own ad-serving measurement, which is covered by Google's policies rather than ours.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, keeps standard server request logs for security and reliability purposes. These are handled by Cloudflare and are not used by us to build any profile of visitors. If we ever add a dedicated analytics tool, this policy will be updated before it goes live.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is generally no personal information held by us for you to access, correct, or delete. For data collected by Google through advertising or maps services, please refer to Google's own privacy controls linked above.

If you are in the UK or EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR respectively regarding personal data held about you. Any request relating to data held by us can be sent to the contact address below.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. The health calculators on this site are intended for adults, and results for younger users may not be meaningful or appropriate.

FitCalc provides estimates for general informational and planning purposes only. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for consultation with a doctor, registered dietitian, or qualified coach. Do not use these tools to diagnose or treat any health condition.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add analytics or a new advertising partner. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
